A project exploring Matisse’s works and his cut out style. Students link his technique to the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic games, creating a contemporary minimal sports poster.
Extending the technique, students progress onto the work of Bernardo Henning, who has influences of Matisse’s shapes and mark making within his designs.
The project can be completed by hand, or digitally using Photoshop.

HOW TO USE:
Download the spreadsheet and add to Google Drive.
Share with students, who make their own copy.
Teacher and student then have joint access to the document, which can be checked and fed back on at any time.
Once annotations are checked, students can copy to a Word document and print, ready for presentation in sketchbook.
